Current short films on Super 8
While Super 8 was primarily used by amateur filmmakers in the first decades after its introduction in 1965 to document vacation trips and family celebrations, the narrow film format is now particularly popular with film professionals and artists due to its special aesthetics. All over the world, short and funny films are still being made with Super 8 technology, but there are also artistically and technically demanding productions. Some of the best and most original films, shot either on classic Super 8 material or on negative film, made up the programme for the international Super 8 competition “St8 of the Art”. At the end of the event, the audience decided on their favorites by ballot.
The Super 8 competition “St8 of the Art” took place on April 22, 2022, 9 pm, at City 46 (Kommunalkino Bremen) as part of the 7th Filmfest Bremen in cooperation with Filmbüro Bremen and City 46 and the support of Kodak Deutschland and Click & Surr, the analogue fiIm shop in Berlin.
